On our way to Istra we will stop above the Kvarner bay with beautiful view on Rijeka and Opatija – small Mediterranean towns proud on its rich history and beauty.

Our next stop is Hum, the smallest town in the world with 30 inhabitants and preserved city institutions. We will pass with a vehicle the educational path of Aleja Glagoljasa with short insight in Croatian history. You will walk 2 streets of Hum, amazing Romaic church from 12th century and enjoy its famous “biska” –   homemade  schnapps from mistletoe prepared on the same way it used to be centuries ago.

We continue towards Motovun, the hidden gem of Istria inner land considered to be the best preserved urban fortified medieval cities on this peninsula. Reaching the top of the city at 270 m above sea level can be bus or easy walk of 20 minutes. You will be rewarded with amazing view on the specially protected green slopes of Motovun forest that is a perfect location for black and white truffles, symbol of this area. After a short walk of the city that is a perfect example of Venice colonial architecture with elements of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance styles you will have a time to enjoy some of the Istrian specialties – do not miss the truffles and Malvazija or Teran wine…

Our next destination will be Pula – the biggest town in Istra that has been the center of this region since Roman time. You will see the Roman remains at every corner of the city – Gate of Hercules from 1st BC, Twin Gate from 2nd century, Porta Aurea…but most amazing one is its Amphitheatre considered as one of the six largest remaining Roman amphitheaters in the world. We will enter the Amphitheater and make most memorable photos inside of the well preserved Roman ruins. During our sightseeing tour we will enter Temple of Augustus from 1st century BC considered to be one of the two best complete Roman monuments outside Italy.
