Depending of your interest we can continue to sail around the Lokrum Island – an Island with thousands legends… It was a Benedictine Island since 10th century and place where Richard the Lyon Heart found a shelter after a shipwreck while returning home from the Third Crusades.

Today, the island is a Special Reserve of Forest Vegetation, under the strict protection of UNESCO and is inhabited by families of peacocks that were introduced to the island in the 19th century by the Austrian archduke Maximilian who used to spend his holidays in a mansion built by his wife archduchess Charlotte. Situated just opposite the busy old town, Lokrum represents an oasis of silence and piece.

We can continue along the coast enjoying the view on the old town and on the most representative villas of Dubrovnik (Villa Sheherazade, Villa Orsula, Villa Dubrovnik…) all the way south to another peaceful bay that hides picturesque little town of Cavtat.

Disembark your boat and take a romantic walk along the rugged coastline of Cavtat situated on the peninsula Rat and hidden in a deep pine forest that will amaze you with its pebble beaches and rich cultural and historical heritage.  Do not miss the Racic Family Mausoleom built by famous Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic and hear the ringing of the bell that contains his famous line: “Learn the secret of love, you will solve the mystery of death and believe that life is eternal.”

If interested in more cultural and historical heritage of Cavtat you can have a guided tour of the work of famous Dubrovnik painter Vlaho Bukovac in his native house and also you can visit Baltazar Bogišić’s collection just few steps further.
